Who can get the vaccine?
According to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, South Carolina will be administering the vaccine to healthcare workers, and residents and staff of long-term care facilities as part of Phase 1a of their vaccine plan.
Will there be a cost to South Carolina Nursing Home Residents to receive the COVID-19 vaccine?
According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, there will be no out of pocket costs to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in a South Carolina Nursing Home.
When will the vaccine become available to nursing homes in the state of South Carolina?
While nothing is certain, we expect the first nursing homes to receive the vaccine in the next few days. The first 43,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were received in South Carolina on December 16, 2020; we fully expect that Williston Healthcare & Rehabilitation will begin to receive doses of the vaccine within the first four weeks, or late by mid-to-late January 2021.
